How to make a killer milkshake? It’s easier than you may have thought, just make sure you use fresh ingredients, keep it simple - or maybe just little bit fancy - and you’re set.
What you need to make 2 large strawberry milkshakes:
2 cups of strawberry ice cream
250g of fresh strawberries or according to preference, some to garnish
2 tbsp of white sugar or to taste
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 cup of cold milk
To get the best result, do your utmost to use pure and additive-free ingredients. Ice cream can not just be rich in sugar, but also filled to the brim with artificial colors and flavors. Add sugar according to your preference but do try and not kill the fresh strawberry flavor. Following these simple guidelines should give you a perfect milkshake!
What to do:
Wash and de-stalk the berries.
Sprinkle the sugar over them and stir in the vanilla extract.
Freeze the strawberries for about an hour.
When the berries have frozen solid, pull them out.
With a cup of milk blend the berries as long as it takes to get a smooth mixture.
Stop the blender for a moment and add in the ice cream - mix it in by hand at first, then blend the whole thing thoroughly.
Tip: if you prefer a thicker milkshake, cut down on the milk!
Now, If you are not a strawberry kind of person - making the classic chocolate shake is easy-breezy:
Replace strawberry ice cream with chocolate ice cream
Dump the berries and sweeteners - grab some chocolate syrup instead and add it to the mixture according to taste.
Blend the ice cream, syrup and milk until smooth and enjoy!
You don’t have to give up your milkshake indulgence when traveling through Sydney Airport - just pop into Trattoria Prego and take advantage of the $6 milkshake offer - pick your favorite from chocolate, caramel, vanilla or strawberry flavors and travel happy!

“Attention please, would Ms J Smith please report to gate 32 immediately as your Air New Zealand flight, ANZ87, has completed boarding and is about to depart.”
The announcement has your heart racing and your mind cursing the cheap wheelie carry-on bag you bought in Hong Kong because all of a sudden, when you need them most, the wheels don’t work. Praying you are heading in the right direction towards gate 32 you rue the choice of heels for a long haul flight. All you can do is plead with the gods of flight: “Wait, please don’t leave without me.”
These scenarios never have a happy ending, do they? You arrive to gate 32 with just enough time to see the aircrew heading down the tunnel while you remain helpless on the wrong side of the glass doors. You slowly resign yourself to the sad fate of having to spend the night in an airport hotel and live off greasy, luke-warm and ridiculously expensive room service for the next 24 hours. Well buck up traveller because we have some good news for you. Forget the room service, in Sydney International Airport we have a seriously good selection of quality dining opportunities that will make the wait for your next flight much more pleasant
Take the edge off missing the flight with some lunch at Caviar House. Indulge in their melt-in-the-mouth salmon gravlax.

Stoll over to Trattoria Prego to recharge your laptop battery with their power outlets, use their free wifi and grab some of Nonna’s Italian meatballs for dinner.

Head back to the hotel but don’t order room service as we have breakfast covered here at Danks Street Depot. Try the best eggs Sydney has to offer and get the poached eggs with silverbeet hash.

We keep food fresh at Sydney International Airport so you fly fresh.
